Amaro del Capo
The Vecchio Amaro del Capo is a Calabrian bitter liquor distilled by Distilleria Caffo of Limbadi, in Vibo Valentia province. It draws its name from Capo Vaticano, represented on the bottle’s label, a coastal cape in a small town near Tropea.
Its composed of water, alcohol, sugar, infusions of herbs and natural seasonings. For its preparation about 20 ingredients from plants growing in Calabria are macerated in 90° alcohol. The full list of ingredients is unknown, but it also contains: mandarin, anise, orange, chamomille, juniper, liquorice, mint, e hyssopus.
